At the front, the site is clearly visible from the Schaarbeeklei, within the immediate vicinity of the currently executed urban renovation project ‘4 Fonteinen’. The back of the project area leads to the Harensesteenweg, within 30 metres from the office buildings of TV production company ‘Woestijnvis’ (De Vijver Media).  In view of the reallocation and commercialisation of the site, we have examined, within the existing town planning framework (development vision De Smet – Vermeulen), the feasibility of several potential scenarios: from parking facilities to a commercial new-build project geared to the needs of interested end users. Talking about circular economy and re-use: awaiting a suited buyer/destination, the abandoned buildings have been temporarily let to ROTOR, the iconic company par excellence when it comes to the recovery of construction materials.
