CO₂ Performance Ladder
We focus on less carbon
Our goal is to work towards a sustainable world with a sustainable growth of activities. For that we focus on carbon-conscious actions by reducing CO₂ emissions. We obtained a level 5 certificate, which is the highest level.
Since 2013, our subsidiary Jan De Nul NV has been the holder of a certificate on the CO₂ Performance Ladder. In 2020, our Benelux construction projects and all planet redevelopment activities of the entire group also achieved the highest level 5.
With a certificate on the CO₂ Performance Ladder, organisations can receive an award advantage for their registration on tenders. The instrument is used as both a CO2 management system as well as a procurement tool.
CO₂ Performance Ladder
Progress
The CO₂ footprint, energy policy, reduction targets and the extent to which they have been achieved are reviewed every six months. This information can be found in the progress report. The plan of action for achieving our reduction targets is described in our Energy Management Action Plan.
Transparancy
We participate in various governmental or NGO CO2 reduction programs. These are described in document 5C1.
Participation
We share knowledge and experience on energy reduction with other businesses. The CO2 Performance Ladder provides a framework to lower CO2 emissions and make our environmental impact smaller. We participate actively in initiatives, undertake own initiatives and set up sector-wide programmes to drive innovation and reduce emissions. An overview of these initiatives can be found in the document below.
Projects with award advantage
Below we list the projects with CO2-related award advantage. For these projects our CO₂ Performance Ladder certification played a role during the tender process.
