The port of Dakar is the most westward port on the African continent. Thanks to its location, it has developed into one of the main ports of West Africa. The rock cutter suction dredger Leonardo Da Vinci was deployed from November 2013 up to April 2014 for deepening the access channel and harbour basin to -13m to increase the port’s competitiveness. We dredged about 700,000 m³ in total.
