Halul Island Power Supply Project
Jan De Nul Group connected Halul Island via sub-sea cables with Ras Laffan. We upgraded the power supply to the Qatari centre for offshore oil production. Client Qatar Petroleum appointed Jan De Nul Group as contractor for the cable installation.
The power supply runs via two 132 kV sub-sea cables, each approximately 101 km long and with a 100 MW capacity. This means they will meet current and future electric power demand for Halul Island. The cable-laying vessel Willem de Vlamingh completed the works between 2014 and 2015.
