Harbour and dry dock complex in Duqm

A consortium including Jan De Nul Group was commissioned to build a new harbour and dry dock complex in Duqm, Oman. The Department for Transport and Communication Oman was the contracting authority. The contract included building breakwaters and quay walls and deepening the harbour basin and access channel.

Thanks to this major harbour expansion programme, there is enough capacity to enable larger freighters to access the harbour, and for future expansion. The upgrade also makes it possible for commercial activities in Duqm to expand. For these works, Jan De Nul Group deployed several trailing suction hopper dredgers, suction cutters and split barges.
