The Isaac Newton, the largest cable-laying vessel of Jan De Nul Group, laid two new high voltage cables at the bottom of the Northumberland Strait in Canada, replacing the obsolete existing cables. The cables, each with a 180 MW capacity, run from New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island.

The Isaac Newton is not only deployed as a cable-laying vessel, but also as an offshore support vessel to bury the cables and protect them against environmental factors such as sea-ice. With this installation, Jan De Nul Group ensured reliable power supply to Prince Edward Island for years to come.
