Umbilical installation Kirinskoye
East of Russia and north of Japan, lies the Sakhalin III Project from Gazprom. The project consists of different oil and gas developments, including four crude oil and natural gas production blocks. The development of one of these blocks, the Kirinskoye platform, was an absolute priority. For the first time in Russia, a sub-sea production unit would produce gas from the rig.
In this context, Jan De Nul Group installed four infield umbilicals between the sub-sea drilling wells and the collector. We installed protective riprap. For this project, we kitted out fall pipe vessel Simon Stevin with equipment on the aft deck to install umbilicals. The length of the umbilicals varies between 1.27 and 7.37 km. Their weight varies between 45 and 147 tonnes per roll.
