Open Site Day wastewater treatment plant Ciney

This year, the activities of Printemps des Sciences and Les Journées Wallonnes de l’Eau are centered on water. They are offering a multitude of free activities to schools and the big public. Therefore, we are opening the doors to the site of the wastewater treatment plant in Ciney.

The wastewater treatment plant has been active since 1998. After 25 years of service, the infrastructure has aged and reached its limits. We are renovating and expanding the capacity of the plant.

We will restore the infrastructure of the current wastewater treatment line. Afterwards, a second line will be built, expanding the plant's capacity from 16,000 to 28,000 population equivalents. The works for this project started in 2023 and will be spread over three years.

Come visit this impressive site on Saturday 29 March, registration is not necessary.
