Jan De Nul collects 8,878 euro for the good cause
Last weekend the yearly Relay-for-Life took place in Aalst (Belgium): walking or running during twenty-four hours in order to collect money for the fight against cancer. Jan De Nul participated with 194 sports participants and 16 enthusiastic volunteers in the organization. The Jan De Nul team covered a total of 3,138 km and temporarily collected 8,878 euro*.
The Jan De Nul company cherishes this local initiative. “We have been sponsoring Relay-for-Life Aalst with material and logistical support since the first edition in 2016” says director Dirk De Nul. “This year we have contributed one euro extra for every kilometre the Jan De Nul team walked or ran.”
The participation of Jan De Nul in Relay-for-Life Aalst is a part of the internal corporate programme FIT. “FIT was rolled out at the office in Aalst two years ago and in the meantime it has spread among all our employees in every corner of the world. FIT stands for Food (eat healthier), In Balance (work-life balance) and Training and sports (exercise more)”, explains Dirk De Nul. “We have a well filled FIT agenda spread over the entire year. Relay-for-Life Aalst, the Red Cross blood donation, Climbing for Life and a lot of other activities make our colleagues work on their own and other’s well-being”.
