Luik Rives Ardentes

Innovative eco neighbourhood for living, working and relaxing

On the Coronmeuse site (Liege), we are redeveloping as part of the consortium NEO LEGIA a dilapidated urban district of +60 acres – located where Maas and Albert Canal come together – into an innovative, low-traffic and eco-friendly neighbourhood where living, working and relaxing go hand in hand.

The city of Liege awarded the challenging redevelopment of the Coronmeuse district to the consortium NEOLEGIA (Jan De Nul Group, CIT Blaton and Willemen Groep). This large-scale public-private partnership aims to develop an eco-friendly residential area on the site where  the World Exhibition took place in 1939.

Sustainable and soft mobility and innovative techniques such as the installation of a municipal heat network are key aspects of the urban renovation project 'Rives Ardentes'. It is a mixed project with 1,325 low-energy and passive residential units in various typologies as well as space for offices, catering, retail, service flats and many other supporting facilities. As much as 83% of the total project area is reserved for green and open space (public parks, gardens, water).
