Recap: future residents of eco-district Rives Ardentes get a sneak preview during site visit
They were invited to the construction site to see how the work on this ambitious reconversion project was progressing and were the first residents to walk across the 'Passerelle des Reflets'.
The enthusiasm about their new neighbourhood under construction was great and the initiative created a sense of togetherness among future neighbours.
Living the nature of Liège: vision of the future takes shape
Future residents were able to see how this commitment is being put into practice on the site today and looked ahead with their families.
Designed as an eco-neighbourhood, Rives Ardentes places strong emphasis on the harmonious integration of nature. The powerful concept "Vivre la nature de Liège / Living Liège's nature" in a green, peaceful environment with a view of the water was a decisive motive for the first buyers and future residents. The visit day was an opportunity for the developers to show and give them a taste of the progress of the landscaping work. Eighty per cent of the site is public spaces such as green spaces, squares, parks and pedestrian paths. From lush green paths to small communal gardens and places for youngsters to relax and play, every piece of land in the district has been designed to promote biodiversity and the well-being of residents. Undergoing a complete metamorphosis, these green spaces promise to provide an idyllic living environment away from the hustle and bustle of large residential centres.
The Passerelle des Reflets: a symbol of dialogue
The Passerelle des Reflets is not just a work of art, it symbolises the connection between the city, the neighbouring districts and the parks in the Rives Ardentes district. It also embodies the dialogue between old and new, between history and future. When they crossed the footbridge for the first time, the future residents could taste the full potential and beauty of the site. Combining aesthetics and functionality, the bridge offers both a panoramic view of the neighbourhood and a direct connection to other parts of the project.
Guided visit shows construction progress
The future residents were invited for a tour of the various living, working and living spaces under construction. They had the chance to discover up close the progress of the construction of the flats along the quay ‘QUAI 1, QUAI 2, QUAI 3’, the first phase of the park homes ‘MAISONS DU PARC’, as well as the MARINA homes and flats at the future marina. They were also able to catch a glimpse of other buildings under construction, such as the future headquarters of ETHIAS, and learn more about new residential facilities and amenities in the pipeline.
Enthusiasm among future residents
The enthusiasm was palpable on this special day. Smiles and lively discussions among future neighbours reflected the excitement of discovering their future habitat. The fact that so many people signed up for the visit shows the growing interest in this type of project, which puts the environment and the community at the heart of the project.
With the first residents set to move in early 2024, the day was a taste of things to come. Although the project is still under construction, it is already revealing its scale and ambition.
With this discovery day, NEO LEGIA wanted not only to showcase the progress of the work, but also to give the first buyers a sense of belonging. By inviting them to be the first to set foot on the Passerelle des Reflets and letting them witness the transformation of the landscape, the aim was to make them feel at home long before they had the keys in their hands.
