Employing recent graduates of the National Taiwan University
As of early 2018, and in order to rapidly solidify the core of its offshore wind team in Taipei, Jan De Nul pioneered as contractor in employing recent graduates of the National Taiwan University (NTU). The NTU is regarded as one of Taiwan’s most renown universities. Appreciating the talents displayed by the recent graduates, Jan De Nul soon strengthened its cooperation with the NTU by offering scholarship programs to the Department of Engineering Science & Ocean Engineering of the NTU.
Later in July of 2019, Jan De Nul organized a site visit for NTU professors and students during the construction works of the Formosa 1 Phase 2 project. The pouring rain couldn’t dampen their enthusiasm as the NTU visitors received a tour of Jan De Nul’s operations in Taichung Port (foundation storage) and Long-Feng Fishing Port (subsea cable landfall). This close collaboration fits perfectly in Jan De Nul’s philosophy of involving the local supply chain and talented academics as much as possible in building a sustainable offshore wind industry for Taiwan.
