Offshore Windfarm Borkum Riffgrund 2

For the Borkum Riffgrund 2 wind farm in Germany, Jan De Nul Group were contracted by Ørsted to install 36 monopiles and couplings. In addition, we took care of the supply, transport and installation of riprap protecting the foundations against erosion.

The Borkum Riffgrund 2 offshore wind farm I l is located within the German North Sea Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), 17 km east of the Dutch border, 34 km north of the island of Borkum and 50 km north-east of the German mainland. The wind farm is connected to the German grid with a capacity of 450 MW. For the installation of the foundations, Jan De Nul Group deployed the jack-up installation vessel Vole au vent.
