ORSI Academy, Belgium

In 2018, Melle was officially renamed the World Centre for Robotic Surgery, because that was when the Orsi Academy opened its doors. The Academy is a high-technology knowledge and innovation centre where you can learn how to operate the latest, state-of-the-art robotic surgery technologies. Jan De Nul Group was the general coordinator of the project along the E40 motorway.

Minister for Innovation Philippe Muyters inaugurated the Orsi Academy, the brainchild of urologist Alexandre Mottrie and Doctor Geert Vandenbroucke. Each year, up to 3,500 surgeons will find their way to this centre. The project is renowned internationally and is therefore a nice reference for a global player like Jan De Nul Group. Not only does Jan De Nul Group have an opportunity to demonstrate its expertise in the building and general construction work coordination of large, high-tech buildings, but also to contribute towards the surgery of tomorrow.
