Pont Passerelle

Pont Passerelle, Luxemburg

Pont Passerelle, Luxemburg

The La Passerelle viaduct, the historic bridge at the heart of Luxemburg, needed widening. The Luxemburg Ministry for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure awarded the project to Jan De Nul Group.

This 19th-century bridge is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. It is the southern access to Luxemburg town centre and train station. The viaduct has a high historic value. It has 24 arches, is 290 metres long and 45 metres high at its deepest point in the valley. Jan De Nul Group was tasked with widening the road deck on the bridge. A platform is attached to both sides of the bridge, resting on supports that will be anchored in the bridge piers. The extension will be used by cyclists and pedestrians, and the old cycle path will be converted into a bus lane
