Floating Auxiliary Equipment
Floating Auxiliary Equipment
Tugboats for various activities ranging from the transfer of crew, towage and the execution of survey activities. These standard tugboats have a length of 15 to 16 metre and a propulsion power of about 2 x 450 kW and reach speeds up to 10 knots. In some cases, faster boats are used for crew transfers or survey activities. These boats reach speeds up to 20 knots.
Multicats are equipped with hydraulic cranes to lift heavy loads and assemble floating pipelines. They are also equipped with winches to lift the heavy anchors of cutter suction dredgers. Multicats can also be deployed for transporting supplies and spares to dredgers. They are 24 metres long and between 8 and 12 metre wide. To meet the most severe standards, the last generation of multicats is equipped with double-walled fuel tanks.
Pontoons with a capacity between 1,500 and 1,900 tones can load and transport rocks for the construction of breakwaters. The deck of these pontoons is reinforced with a concrete layer of 30 cm to limit the damage when loading rocks. Pontoons can also be used as work platform during marine works. In this event, the deck is equipped with cranes, while spuds or winches and anchors make sure that the pontoon stays in position. If necessary, a pontoon can even be equipped with staff accommodation. Smaller pontoons with winches are used for anchoring and positioning floating pipelines.
Our fleet also includes some specific pontoons: dynamically positioned spray pontoons, dismountable pontoons, mooring pontoons, pontoons used as landing stage, etc.
