New 'Transition piece'-simulator
Recently the first training sessions took place on our new “Transition piece”-simulator. The idea for the simulator was launched with the purpose to further expand our expertise in foundation design and cable installation, and to reinforce our position as reliable partner for offshore activities.
In addition to this specific training, the simulator will, in the future, also be used for internal safety and evacuation exercises regarding “working at height”. Additionally, a Fibre Optic training will be initiated next year, with the aim of learning the crew of our cable laying vessels how to work with the EXFO Fibre Optic guard system. This system makes it possible for the crew to execute OTDR tests after installation of submarine cables and to make Fibre Optic-splices themselves. Of course, the training will also be available for the entire JDN fleet, which have Fibre Optic networks on board. The preparations for this training are in full swing.
