Safety
We want everyone who works with us to come home safe, every day. We strive to realise equal and high safety standards for every co-worker, no matter the project they work on or the region they live in.
BIG 5
We focus our efforts on what we call the ‘BIG 5’, the five most important safety risks: heights, lifting, equipment, traffic and danger zones. Our data of the last decade prove these risks cause the most safety incidents. Through our internal programme S.A.F.E., we tackle each of these risks through actions tailored to the different sectors and regions we work in.
- Heights: individuals or objects – all are secured when working at height.
- Lifting: by man or machine – all activities are coordinated and in control.
- Equipment: from the smallest tool to the largest vessel – all tasks are matched with the right tools.
- Traffic: vessels, vehicles, or people - all movements respect surroundings and traffic rules.
- Danger zones: on board or on site - all danger zones are known and respected.
In an open discussion, I encourage my colleagues to make room for safety.
Framework to challenge the BIG5
It is our ambition to reach equal safety standards for all people working at this company. To get there, we need to challenge the BIG 5 safety risks, causing the most accidents throughout the different sectors of our company. This framework guides us in finding adequate solutions for every root cause of accidents happening.
