October was a month full of FIT for Jan De Nul! Lots of our colleagues joined in on the fun and we are happy to share that with you. We give you a review of the Autumn Walks, the Sports Day, Brussels Ekiden and the workshop ‘Learn to Relax’.
Sports day
On Saturday 7 October, FIT organised a fun sporty afternoon in Geraardsbergen for colleagues and family. There were five hikes, two trail runs, two mountain bike tours and three road bike rides. Everyone could, at their choice and at their own pace, participate in a tour tailored to his/her needs. We ended the sports day with a joint dinner.
Brussels Ekiden
On Saturday 21 October, four teams of six JDN-colleagues showed what teamwork and team spirit really means. Because together, each team ran a marathon!
Three colleagues covered 5 km, two colleagues 10 km and a colleague 7.195 km to cover a total of 42.195 km. Each runner ran a lap on the magical track of the King Baudouin Stadium. The relays were not done with a relay baton, but with a special relay ribbon, the 'tasuki'.
Autumn Walks
The colleagues from the Aalst office did not let the autumn weather get to their hearts on 24 and 26 October and went out during the lunch break. After a pleasant walk, everyone could enjoy a meal soup and baguette. A successful lunch break!
Learn to relax
During the lunch break, FIT organised the workshop Learn to relax in collaboration with an external partner. Colleagues could attend the workshop online or in the office.. During the workshop, several tools that we can use to put our body into relaxation mode, influence the autonomic nervous system and release stress and tension in the body. We were also introduced to the power of your own mindset and with meditation. Finally, we were given some concrete exercises that we can use at our desk.
