In 2018, Jan De Nul Group transported the first rocks to build a 5 km long submerged breakwater off the Benin coast. With this project, the Benin government wants to reduce coastal erosion. Jan De Nul Group will be working on this project for three years, installing one to three tonne rocks and supplying 2.5 million m³ of sand.
At the southern tip of Argentina lies the Vega Pleyade offshore gas and condensate field. The field is located in the Cuenca Marina Austral 1 (CMA-1) concession, off the coast of Tierra del Fuego. Since 1978, Total has been running the CMA-1 concession. It extracts 30 percent of the Argentine gas with Tierra del Fuego at the centre. Here, Jan De Nul Group worked at one of its most southern projects for Total.
In the Grand Banks, along the east coast of Newfoundland in Canada, there is a large oil and gas field in the Atlantic Ocean, 350 km off the coast. In 2003 and 2007, Jan De Nul Group had already taken care of excavating two production wells. In 2012, the powerful trailing suction hopper dredger Cristóbal Colón dredged the second well. At a depth of up to 130 m, in extremely hard and constantly varying soil conditions, Jan De Nul Group successfully dredged a production well 10.5 m deep and 45 to 80 m wide.

The port of Filyos dreamed of excelling in maritime transport. Jan De Nul Group helped to realise  this dream, amongst others by carrying out dredging works. As a result, Filyos now has the third largest port in Turkey and is the main export centre on the Black Sea.
For the construction of Palm Island II, a.k.a. Jebel Ali, contracting authority Palm Island Development (Nakheel) partnered with Jan De Nul Group in 2002. We built an island in the shape of a palm tree. The area is 7 km square, with 17 branches each 80 m wide and is designed as a holiday resort.
