From 2009 to 2016, Jan De Nul Group took part in the construction of the third set of lock complexes in the Panama Canal.

The La Passerelle viaduct, the historic bridge at the heart of Luxemburg, needed widening. The Luxemburg Ministry for Sustainable Development and Infrastructure awarded the project to Jan De Nul Group. 

The Irbich Viaduct in Luxemburg is part of the ‘Transversale de Clervaux’, a new road connecting N7 and CR340/N18.

Jan De Nul Group rearranged the cloverleaf interchange between E313 and E314 at Lummen.

The Kieldrecht lock is the largest in the world: 500 m long, 68 m wide and up to 26 m deep. Ready for the future. Notwithstanding the gigantic size of this lock, construction was precision work. The lock doors had to close perfectly, and the opening mechanism of bridges required millimetre accuracy, because the train tracks need to fit perfectly whenever the bridge opens and closes.

Renovation works to the Annie Cordy tunnel in Brussels started in 2018.

The Schuman-Josaphat railway tunnel connects two busy railway lines in the European quarter of Brussels as part of the GEN project. The new line provides a fast connection with the national airport. The works were carried out exclusively underground, below one of the most densely populated areas of Belgium. An exceptional technological challenge.

The A11 closes the missing link between Bruges and Westkapelle. This 12 km long motorway not only provides a faster link with the port of Zeebrugge, but also relieves the polder villages from heavy and busy traffic.

Along the E40 between Brussels and Ghent, at Aalst, you will find SkylinE40, a brand-new office complex. Client Mikeppe Bvba (G-Label invest) trusted Jan De Nul Group with the construction of two 12,500 m2 office buildings and underground car park.

Crematorium Siesegem, one of the largest crematoria in Europe, is located on the western ring road around the city of Aalst. The design transforms the bustle of the outside world into a discreet and quiet atmosphere. This impressive architectural jem of more than 6,000 m² was built by Jan De Nul Group.

In 2018, Melle was officially renamed the World Centre for Robotic Surgery, because that was when the Orsi Academy opened its doors. The Academy is a high-technology knowledge and innovation centre where you can learn how to operate the latest, state-of-the-art robotic surgery technologies. Jan De Nul Group was the general coordinator of the project along the E40 motorway.

The ‘Grand Hôpital’ in Charleroi is a new hospital that will bring together five existing hospitals into one building on the Viviers site, an old coal mine north-east of Charleroi. With 900 beds, this new hospital will be one of the largest in Belgium. Jan De Nul Group and subsidiary Soetaert are taking on this project together with Franki.

A consortium with Jan De Nul Group realised the closed structural works of the second construction phase of AZ Groeninge – campus Kennedylaan in record time. More than 80,000 m² were built in not even 18 months. This project was not short on challenges.

NV ‘Scholen van Morgen’ is building 182 nursery, primary and secondary schools, at the Flemish Authority’s initiative. This tackles the historic problem of the ageing educational infrastructure in Flanders. A project that Jan De Nul Group is excited to be involved in.

Located about 12 km off the coast, on top of the Banc de Guérande seabed formation in the northern part of the Bay of Biscay, the offshore wind farm Saint-Nazaire will be the first one in France. This wind farm will have a total capacity of 480 MW and will consist of 80 units of 6 MW Wind Turbine Generators.
